Father Joe: A Hero's Journey
Published in Audio CD by Artana Productions (01 August, 2002)
Author: Jay O'Callahan
Average review score:

One of those "don't get out of your car" radio stories
I tuned into the NPR version of "Father Joe" one night while driving to a meeting. After I arrived, I was held in my car until the end by the story, and the sheer power of Jay O'Callahan's telling of it.

A Father's Kisses: A Novel
Published in Hardcover by Donald I Fine (September, 1996)
Author: Bruce Jay Friedman
Average review score:

Funny
It's a shame that this is out of print, because it's the funniest book I've ever read. Nothing funny really happens in the book; the humor all lies in the droll narration. It's really unbelievable.

Authors: Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, James Madison, George Wescott Carey, and James McClellan
Average review score:

The framers of the Constitution in their own words
An essential book for every American both young or old, male or female, Democrat or Republican. A delightful discovery on the need of God and guns (or perhaps swords) in the United States and the intolerance of a government in charge of all but answerable to noone. An undeniably perfect fit for todays culture.

Discover your roots from the men that gave their lives for the signing of the Constitution; true heroes. Their resolve was unquestionable and the love for country without reproach.

They brought us so far. We've walked away. Read it and weep. BK

The Fifth Generation
Published in Hardcover by Horizon Pub Co (August, 1995)
Author: Dale Jay Dennis
Average review score:

An exciting, suspenseful story with a good message.
This was an excellant book. It has characters you can relate too, and a very suspenseful climax. It's a good story of overcoming prejudices and enduring trials and hard times. It's about a young girl named Kathleen from northern Ireland, who attends a church youth conferance in southern Ireland. Kathleen is scared and distrustful of the people there, but she slowly overcomes those feelings as she gets to know a young man named Eamonn Kelly. The book continues as Kathleen's relationship with Eamonn develops, despite her father's anger. The story goes on with Kathleen suffering through some terrible hardships because of her father, and her struggles to remain strong and forgive him. It's a good story about love, forgiveness and staying strong through trials. It definitely kept me riveted until the end.

Excellent legal guide for any serious journalist
As a News Director at a top TV market, it is crucial I provide sound advise to my young reporters about their responsibilities and liabilities when pursuing a story. The First Ammendment and the Fith Estate should be requiered reading for all young journalists (and even some older journalists could refresh their knowledge with this book). I look forward to the next edition as we face a whole new world with Cybernews and DTV.

First Hand
Published in Paperback by Mica Press (01 February, 1997)
Author: Jay Rogoff
Average review score:

First Hand: a heartbreaking look at love soon to be lost.
Jay Rogoff's First Hand is a technical and emotional marvel. It documents the speaker's attempt to win over the family of his beloved by joining the family farm for one summer. The family dynamics play out in novelistic depth, and one leaves--despite the narrator's proclamations otherwise--with a sense of inevitable loss to follow. Rogoff is never sentimental, never flashy--just brilliant. A terrific chapbook.

Focke-Wulf Fw 190: Workhorse of the Luftwaffe (Famous Aircraft of the National Air and Space Museum, Vol 9)
Published in Paperback by Smithsonian Institution Press (November, 1988)
Author: Jay P. Spenser
Average review score:

Excellent report on a WW II fighter aircraft restoration
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I've always been a big fan of World War II fighter aircraft and especially the Luftwaffe fighters (produced and flown under such demanding conditions). I've also always loved the old aircraft stored at the Smithsonian, and especially the restoration work that goes on at Silver Hill, the Smithsonian's restoration site. This book goes into great detail about how the Smithsonian's technicians and artisans restored this historic fighter, and includes much historical information about the aircraft, its development, the different types, etc. An excellent book for the amateur or professional historian who needs technical details about the Focke-Wulf 190.
